Emergency Services

The Emergency Services (Fire Service & Civil Defence) provide professional help to visitors and the people of Westmeath in an emergency.

The Fire Service is there to provide an immediate emergency response.

To contact the Fire Service in an emergency, dial 112 or 999.

Use the nearest phone.  You don't need money or credit; just lift the receiver and dial. The call is free.  Visit Contacting the Fire Service in an Emergency for more information.

Civil Defence provides a number of services to the public. Members of Civil Defence are people in the community. It takes longer for Civil Defence to respond, but Civil Defence can provide its services for a long period of time.
