Community survey for the Westmeath Outdoor Recreation Plan

The consultation exercise to underpin the development of a new Outdoor Recreation Plan for Westmeath is now underway.  

The input of individuals, organisations and groups from across Westmeath is vital to the development of a needs-led Outdoor Recreation Plan for the county. This plan seeks to guide the management and development of outdoor recreation while increasing participation over the course of the next five years.  

An online survey is open until the 8th August, for any resident from Westmeath to give their views on Outdoor Recreation opportunities, including those who do not currently engage in outdoor recreation and those who face barriers to doing so. The survey can be accessed here and takes approximately five minutes to complete:

Westmeath Sports Partnership encourages and supports participation in sport and physical activity by providing information and training and by organising activities and programmes, either directly, or in partnership with other individuals, groups, clubs and partner agencies.

We develop, co-ordinate, and facilitate these directly or in partnership with other individuals, groups, clubs and partner agencies and encourage groups to take responsibility for these projects and activities so that they can be self-sustaining

Westmeath Sports Partnership’s key aims are to increase participation in sport and physical recreation and to ensure that local resources are used to best effect.

We are core funded and supported by Sport Ireland as well as range of National Governing Bodies and one of 29 Local Sports partnerships across the country.
