Domestic and Sexual Violence Supports

Women’s Aid is a national organisation working to stop domestic violence against women and children. The Women's Aid helpline 1800 341 900 operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and provides support and information to callers experiencing abuse from intimate partners.

The Dublin Rape Crisis Centre provides a wide range of supports & services also operates a national 24-hour helpline on 1800 778888

Athlone (Midland) Rape Crisis Centre provide a free professional counselling service to both male and females who have experienced rape, sexual abuse, or any other form of sexual violence, recently or in the past. Freephone: 1800 306 600

Offaly Domestic Violence Support Service (ODVSS) provide support and services for victims of domestic violence and their children at a local level and campaign for societal and legislative changes that will lead to the elimination of violence and abuse. ODVSS helpline phone number: 057 935 1886

Esker House Women’s Refuge and Domestic Abuse Support Service provides a suite of free and confidential services to women and children who are subjected to Domestic Violence and Abuse. They provide supports throughout county Westmeath.

Safe Ireland deliver various combinations of services to women and children including national and local crisis helpline supports, one-to-one emotional and practical support, information, advocacy, Garda and court accompaniment, therapeutic supports, housing, and welfare advice.

Sexual Assault Treatment Units (SATU) is a dedicated unit that provides specialist medical attention and care for victims of rape and sexual assault.

Westmeath SATU service is based in Mullingar in Midland Regional Hospital.

Racism and Xenophobia Supports

If you have experienced discrimination in the workplace, you can report it to the Workplace Relations Commission.  You can fill out the e-complaint form on the Workplace Relations Commission website here WRC

If you wish to report racist incidents confidentially, the Irish Network against Racism collects reports through www.ireport.ie .  Fill out the form at http://www.ireport.ie/

Even if you have already reported it through other channels, you can report it here, to allow the Irish Network Against Racism to monitor reports of racist incidents in a variety of different settings.
