Organisations listed below can provide information and advice about immigration.

Legal Aid board are an independent statutory body responsible for the provision of civil legal aid and advice. If you are applying for international protection in Ireland, civil legal aid and advice can help you with your application. You can apply for legal services at any time, but it is important to do so as soon as possible.  You will need to make an application to one of the Legal Aid Board Law Centre that deals with applications for international protection.

Immigrant Council of Ireland provide expert knowledge for those seeking immigration information and advice help.

Migrant Rights Centre Ireland work to advance the rights of migrant workers and their families at risk of exploitation, social exclusion and discrimination. Migrant Rights Centre Ireland provides support and information for migrant workers, empowers workers to campaign for rights.

NASC Migrant and refugee rights has a free helpline service for questions on immigration law in Ireland or reception conditions for International Protection Applicants.  Call Nasc's helpline on 021 427 3594 and press 1 to get information about immigration status, family reunification, visas to Ireland, citizenship or your reception conditions.

Doras provide support, make referrals, and advocate on behalf of international protection applicants, refugees and migrants who need assistance accessing their rights and entitlements.

Irish Refugee Council Independent Law Centre provides early legal advice and representation to people in the early stages of the asylum process. You can access the service through their Information and Advocacy Service, please let the Information and Advocacy Service know if you need legal representation and have not already availed of legal aid. They will take your relevant details and make a referral to the Law Centre

Their helpline can be contacted on 01 7645854. Helpine opening hours are: 10am to 1pm: Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday.

JRS Ireland is a charity that supports individuals, families and children living in IPAS accommodation centres throughout Ireland. The JRS Ireland RAISE Project provides information, advice and other services to young International Protection Applicants.

Crosscare Migrant Project is a Dublin based NGO providing information and advocacy support to people who have moved to Ireland, around the immigration system and related issues. They work with -

  • Migrants into Ireland who are from outside the EU or have non-EU family members.  They provide support on immigration permission, family visas and citizenship & residency.
  • They have a Chinese-language service and work directly with the Chinese Community

The project carries out research, policy development and training.  They provide training to organisations working with the cohorts Crosscare Migrant Project work with.

They offer phone, video, email and in-person meetings by appointment.

Scheme of voluntary assisted return is an option to persons who wish to return voluntarily to their country of origin. The International Organisation for Migration (IOM) may be able to assist you to return home. The IOM runs a Voluntary Assisted Return and Reintegration Scheme which can help you with travel documentation and arrange for transit and arrival assistance if needed.

Renewal of Temporary Residence Certificate

Any applicant who is currently in the International Protection process and is complying with the process is entitled to receive a Temporary Residence Certificate.

If your TRC is expired or due to expire within the next 3 WEEKS please email trcrenewals@ipo.gov.ie

On receipt of a request to renew, your eligibility will be checked and if eligible you will be issued a new TRC by post to the address on your file.

Support for those who have received permission from the Irish Naturalisation and Immigration Service (INIS)  to join their family members in Ireland is also available-
