Community Support Centres
Community Support Centres are local facilities such as community halls, GAA clubs, sports venues and community centres that can be activated during an emergency to provide essential welfare services.
Important: These centres will only open when required during an emergency
The Community Support Centres database contains a list of the pre-designated community premises that can be rapidly opened to provide a safe place where impacted people can access basic welfare services (e.g., warmth, refreshments, device charging, Wi‑Fi, hygiene facilities) and reliable information. Community Support Centres are operated by local volunteer groups, supported and coordinated by the Local Authority and partner agencies. Community Support Centres do not provide overnight rest facilities and do not replace Evacuation and Emergency Rest Centres managed by Westmeath County Council.
