Old Rail Trail Bye-Laws

Westmeath County Council in exercise of the powers vested in it under Part 19 of the Local Government Act, 2001, as amended, and the Local Government Act, 2001 (Bye-Laws) Regulations, 2006, has made Bye-Laws for the purpose of regulating the use of the Old Rail Trail Greenway.

The Bye-Laws are effective from 20th December 2018 and include provision for the imposition of a fixed payment of €50 in respect of a contravention of a Bye-Law as an alternative to a prosecution, as provided for in Section 206 of the Local Government Act 2001.
