Third Westmeath Culture Night has Arrived!

Third Westmeath Culture Night has Arrived!

AFTER months of waiting Westmeath Culture Night has finally arrived with events kicking off in the morning to late on Friday September 21 and will give locals the opportunity to attend any and all of the vast selection of events for free.

Catherine Kelly, Arts Officers, Westmeath County Council is urging people to attend saying:

“The third Westmeath Culture Night has finally arrived and again I am urging people to take advantage of the vast selection of events on offer and to come out on Friday September 21 and support those groups across the county who are putting on an event or show in their area for free.”

Events will begin at 9.30am on Friday (September 21) morning and finish in the early hours in locations across the county including Athlone, Moate, Mullingar, Delvin, Castlepollard and Kinnegad.

More and more events have been added to the Culture Night programme including Athlone’s Dean Crowe Threatre who will present the original play The Like in I Love You  and The Exquisite Colab who will have artwork displayed in Tuar ard coffee shop from Wednesday September 19 for Culture Night and in the purple pop up gallery on Main Street Moate on Friday September 21.

Some of the other events taking place are: presentation of Prizes for photographic competition in Castlepollard Library; Mullingar Comhaltas Branch , Market Square; a lunchtime recital from a selection of musicians from the Midlands Youth Orchestra, Mullingar Town Band and Westmeath VEC at the Old National School, Kinnegad; Mosaic Workshop by artist Dawn Aston at The Garden Gallery, Crowenstown, Delvin.

Again this year, every single event is free in a bid to encourage people living in Westmeath and its environs to get out and about and have a snapshot of what is available in the county all year round.
